The company is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Systems Administrator in the Toronto, ON office. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Operations and will work closely with the Operations, Development and Quality Assurance teams. This role is responsible for remotely supporting and maintaining Production systems in Denver as well as Toronto office’s computing resources and network infrastructure along with various office administration and operational tasks. Production systems are a combination of IBM, Cisco and NetApp gear running Linux and MySQL. Toronto Systems are primarily tower PC’s running Linux and MySQL, there are also several windows devices in the NaviGo lab requiring various levels of hands on support. This individual will participate in one week monthly of 24/7 production on-call rotation.

 

Experience Requirements:

This position requires a minimum of four years Linux/UNIX System Administration experience working in a medium to high complexity production environment with 4 nines uptime requirements.

 

Required:

  • LAMP systems administration (Linux (RHEL 4/CENTOS 5), Apache, MySQL, PHP)
  • Fluent in at least one of the following scripting languages: Perl, Ruby, Python, PHP, shell
  • Solid understanding of IP networking and network trouble shooting at the server level
  • Familiarity with Open Source Software Tools (Twiki, Horde, MySQL)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated problem solving & troubleshooting skills

Highly Desirable:

  • Asterisk phone system configuration and management
  • SAN/NAS devices experience
  • Familiar with Load Balancing (local and Global) and Firewall configurations
  • Windows Server administration experience
  • Experience in hosted environments
  • Experience with virtualization

 

Education Desired:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related engineering degree or related experience.
  • Linux/UNIX System Administration certifications or equivalent experience.

 

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Following a standard probationary period, full-time employees are entitled to coverage under our benefits program.   This position will be located in Toronto, ON.
